Yesterday night, Tesla officially unveiled the Cybertruck, an all-electric sci-fi looking pickup truck. The design of the Cybertruck is not what I was expecting. The body has almost absolutely no curves, only sharp edges. It doesn’t even look like it is related to other Teslas. My rendering was somewhat accurate, but mostly wrong. I tried to incorporate the design of current Teslas into the Cybertruck render, and that was wrong. However I really do like the design of the Cybertruck. I think it looks much cooler than the popular trucks being sold today.
The specs of this truck are very impressive. Even though it is a heavy vehicle, it can still compete with some of the most well-known sports cars.
Here is a spec sheet made by Tesla:
The base model of the truck starts at only $39,900, a really good starting price for a pickup.
Although the design of the Cybertruck is unusual, I still think it looks amazing. There are a few things that don’t add up on the Cybertruck though. Apparently, it has no side mirrors, no windshield wipers, or no frunk (front trunk). The unveiling was pretty short, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk did not demonstrate much, or even tell when it will reach production.
Here is a comparison of my rendering next to the official Cybertruck.
Here is driving footage and photos of the Cybertruck that I put together.
What do you think of the Cybertruck?
