Recently, Rivian’s first production vehicle has rolled off the assembly line at their factory in Normal, Illinois. This is a huge milestone for the company. This also means that Rivian is the first automaker in history to bring an electric pickup truck to market, beating Ford, GM, Tesla and others.
Rivian CEO, RJ Scaringe, said this in a tweet: “After months of building pre-production vehicles, this morning our first customer vehicle drove off our production line in Normal! Our team’s collective efforts have made this moment possible. Can’t wait to get these into the hands of our customers!”
In the photos you can see many other R1T pickups on the assembly line. This means more trucks are being produced and ready to ship to eager customers. I am really excited that the first electric pickup truck is in production. I can’t wait to see one of these trucks out in the wild!
